Stoner, Expect Rise in Mugello

Having just finished second in the MotoGP Netherlands, last weekend, Repsol Honda rider Casey Stoner hoping to get back to winning ways at the Italian GP this weekend, July 3, 2011.

Having won three successive victories in France, Catalunya and the UK, "Stoner" had to settle for finishing second place in the Netherlands since defeated Yamaha rider Ben Spies. Even so, Stoner remained firmly on top rider with 136 points.

Stoner hoping to return to victory lane at the Italian MotoGP race at Mugello Circuit. The Australian rider hoping achieve a better result at Mugello after only finishing in the top four last season.

"I can not wait to perform at Mugello, especially after a difficult weekend in Assen (the Netherlands) where I was very happy to finish second place. Last year I did not get a good result in Italy, but I always enjoy this circuit," said Stoner as reported Crash.net.

Stoner hoping Mugello track conditions much better this year. 2007 MotoGP world champion is well aware of how important the points at Mugello.

"From what I hear, the last surface of the track smoother and faster, which will make the Mugello circuit is better than before. I can not wait to try it," said Stoner.

"I'm hoping to get a good race and scored points for the championship, but we should still head down and work hard," added the Australian rider.
